Short Poems About Dreams and Goals for Inspiration

A graceful ballerina in mid-leap, dressed in a flowing blue dress, surrounded by delicate, colorful bubbles.

Dreams and goals help us aim high and overcome challenges. The following short poems capture the spirit of ambition and perseverance to keep chasing our dreams.

Dreams

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Dream Big

Dream big, aim high,
Reach for the stars in the sky.
Set your goals, chase them well,
In your heart, let passion swell.

Believe in you, never stray,
Step by step, you'll find your way.
Through the trials, through the strife,
Dreams and goals shape your life.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Dare to Dream

Dare to dream,
though the road be long,
Though the journey seems tough,
and everything goes wrong.
For dreams are the seeds
that grow into goals,
The fuel for the fire
that stirs our souls.

With courage and strength,
each step that you take,
Will bring you closer
to the dream that you make.
So dare to dream big,
and follow your heart,
For every great journey
begins with a start.

The Dreamer

Dreams grow holy put in action;
work grows fair through starry dreaming:
But where each the other lighteth,
more of earth and heaven is seen.
Then each man and woman gladly
sees the work by others done,
For in every task completed,
one more dream is dreamed and won.

The Path

There is a magic in the little ways
We move toward our goals each day,
With courage, hope, and gentle grace,
We find our dreams in every place.

The path may twist, the road may bend,
But steadfast hearts will find the end.
For in each step, each stride we take,
Our goals and dreams we surely make.

Goals

Set your goals high,
and don’t stop till you get there.
Wherever you go,
go with all your heart.
No matter how long it takes,
how dark the road is,
Your dreams can be achieved
if you strive with all your might.

What Is It About?

Shy dreams,
approaching a person like a stray dog.
Something most people don't want to see coming— it's scary!

When we were children,
we liked to draw a laughing sun
in the corner of the paper.

Some people say dreams are silly,
but in reality,
they are like the brand of “GTR” cars—
bold, fast, and iconic.

Someday, when we have achieved them,
we will see what we’ve built
beyond the sky.

And like Mike Tyson,
we must have speed and power
to chase our dreams.

Maybe it's something we don’t want to know,
but in the end, all it takes is hope,
patience, and fighting for what we want.

He Had His Dream

He had his dream, and all through life,
Worked up to it through toil and strife.
Afloat fore’er before his eyes,
It colored for him all his skies:
The storm-cloud dark
Above his bark,
The calm and listless vault of blue
Took on its hopeful hue,
It tinctured every passing beam—
He had his dream.

He labored hard and failed at last,
His sails too weak to bear the blast,
The raging tempests tore away
And sent his beating bark astray.
But what cared he
For wind or sea!
He said, “The tempest will be short,
My bark will come to port.”
He saw through every cloud a gleam—
He had his dream.
